Who Knew?

I somehow found myself on the website of Frye Boots and I was very suprised to see countless pairs of beautiful and well crafted shoes. It was a shocker, because I always thought that Frye made its products for a soccer mom sort of demographic. I guess not...

Hot! I really like brown shoes...Well made brown shoes. I can't deal with the crap I wear from Payless anymore. They make my feet hurt after three minutes.

Wish List

I want this recipe book! It was published by the Peoples Potato Project Collective. People's Potato offers free vegan meals to Concordia students five days a week. If you are a student at Concordia and have not yet tried the food...you should go. Right. Now. So delicious!



One day I was in line for Peoples Potato and there was a girl holding a Slingshot Daily Planner. I almost flipped! I have wanted one of these since the summer of 2006.

"Where did you get that!?" I asked!

Like a beacon of hope that she is, she told me: "I got this at the Anarchist Book Store on St. Laurent, but Le Frigo Vert sold them in September."

Whooo!!

So what makes this planner so special? Wellll, it has the basic elements of a student planner but it also includes a contact list of radical groups around the globe, a menstrual calendar, cool art, info on police repression, popular activist and alternative cultural holidays and so much more! And its printed with sustainable paper and ink.

The last thing on my wishlist is:

This Otesha book is like a bible for activists and environmentalists. (Maybe bible isn't the right word.) Anyways! I read it in the summer while I was in B.C. and I would really like to own a copy, read it a million times and then lend it to my friends.

I know that I can often be a stupid consumer but I want to start looking for ways to live a more sustainable, alternative and happy life! But I can still love shoes and pretty dresses, right?

This morning I woke up and the front tire was flat! I'm sorry bike. I love you, never leave me.

Hey look! It's me. Except I dont have long hair anymore and I usually don't bike around naked. Only sometimes...

I miss my bike so much. The spring season will be here soon. I want to get a basket for it and weave fake flowers through it. Maybe i'll invest in a puppy...just kidding. Theres a special place in hell for people who use animals as accesories.

But I don't like it when it's too much of people being told what to do, and too much like... fascism, of magazines telling women to starve themself, and they obey! "Or they're like 'out of fashion', which is the worst crime you could ever commit! So they get executed for it, publicly!"

She's being a little intense. Style is my playground. If I didn't have fun, I wouldn't do it! I think tabloid magazines should take the blame. Not fashion. Dont hate, Bjork! Dont hate.

Via Rail: A Fashion Goldmine

On a recent train trip, I found a pair of gorgeous black vintage boots lying sadly beside the garbage can. My heart was racing when I scooped those babies up and took them home.

(For us ladies who are a size 10 - it is nearly impossible to find a nice pair of vintage boots.)

Yesterday, I was on the train and I saw the style issue of The New Yorker in the netted compartment of the seat. I scooped that magazine up, and yes, I took it home. (I know. I'm so bad!)
