Poutine and Polka Dots
Friday, November 12, 2010
I'm in a food coma today after yesterday but it was worth it!! It all began when a girl at school noticed me ogling her box of gourmet cupcakes and offered me one! I ate it on the way to Moe's Diner, a downtown greasy spoon from heaven, where I met my friend Becky and knocked back the best plate of poutine I've ever had in Montreal. My junk food fair ended at Fats Billiard, the sleaziest bar known to student, where we polished off a couple buckets of free popcorn and one (or was it three?) pitchers of beer.

Bits and Bobs from the UK asked me what poutine is. Good Question! Its french fries, gravy, and cheese curds melted in, a specialty of Quebec! Yum.
Poutine picture found on Psycho Lady Hockey. I'm wearing a second hand skirt, American Apparel body suit, vintage jacket, and second hand black velvet heels.

aw really!! That is so amazing to me...it was my first time there yesterday and i've been meaning to go for years. I'm so glad I finally did because I loved everything about it!

She gave you a cupcake! Aw, well that's nice of her! Anyway, I love poutine, and I love polka dots...what a perfect mix! Always enjoy seeing your outfits, as they're always scavenged from wonderful places.

Aw that's so sweet of her to give you a cupcake!
That blazer is so amazing, and it looks really awesome against the polka dots, too.
Junk food... soooo gooood.

You look gorgeous!! Love how you lost count of the beer ;) Montreal is such a fun place to hang, even though we don't like the cold we still come visit in the winter. There is always something to do, and tons of good places to eat!
Hope you're having a great weekend!
Much Love from Toronto,
Diana
I am certainly not one to pull off polka-dots. You do it so well. I love the outfit!

Aw thank you for answering my question about poutine :) Wow it looks so crazy but yummy too. I deffo will have to try some one day. We have chips and gravy here in the UK, and cheesy chips too, so I guess it would be combining the two dishes together. Ooo I need to find out if anywhere here makes it x
love your vintage style, i'd love to have you as a follower, hope to hear from you soon!

Yay poutine! That default food to mention whenever anyone asks you what's typically Canadian and you don't want to do the sushi explanation, so you explain what the hell poutine is instead! ; )
POUTINEEEEE! Seriously, I am scared to live in a country other than Canada for fear of no poutine.
